The Constitution

            With the famous words, "We the people," the Constitution started. The Constitution was our second dictation of how our government was to be ran, the first was the Articles of Confederation, which proved to be ineffective due to giving the federal government too little power. Some were fearful of the powers granted to the federal gov. by the Constitution, but it was ratified, nonetheless, after the addition of the Bills of Rights. To the United States, this document is a framework of our government, the law that is above even the government, and a reminder of our principles. Today, the Constitution can be viewed by the public in the National Archives in Washington D.C. It is preserved in the same way as the Declaration of Independence.

To our posterity, its presence will be prominent for years to come, as the words of the Constitution, are used by the Supreme Court to carefully review cases present to them, as well as the Constitutionality of laws created by the legislature, and other government actions. It is also a protector of individual rights.
